The Little Train That Could

The Little Train That Could...I think of this story everyday and every night! This week was awesome! We had two exchanges, one with the Zone Leaders and the other with the District Leaders.  It was a great opportunity for me to speak more Spanish and learn form missionaries that have been in the field for a long time.and copy what they do!  The Zone Leader I exchanged with was Elder Martiz.  He is a super dope good guy from El Salvador and lived in Barcelona, Spain so we talked a lot about soccer.  The other District Leader is from Guatemala and is super dope as well.  He is a hard worker which I love.  He gave me some good tips for contacting! We had a baptism in our ward this week from the Sisters and the girl was freaking beast mode.  She has spine problems, can't swim and is scared of the water.  It took us like 20 tries to baptize her, but we finally did it.  She was so amazing!  Her back was hurting and she was scared of the water, but she wanted to be baptized so badly that she pushed through it.  It was so cool to see her determination.  She could have backed out at any time, but she persevered through the pain.  I was the witness, which was awesome so when she finally went all under, and I gave the thumbs up, she was soooooo happy!  You could just see her glowing and it was so cool!

I gave my first Spanish talk this week. it was good to get that over with! I know my Spanish is super broken (hahaha), but a lot of people said they liked my talk.  I am really starting to learn a lot of Spanish now and starting to get in the flow of the mission.  I am not going to lie.  The past five weeks in the field have been the hardest weeks of my life.  I have never been this mad, or this sad, or missing my family ever this much! I'm thankful for my friends back home and my home Ward in Sandy that are praying for me, emailing me and cheering me on.  Thanks so much!  I love you guys! Always remember that you can be the little train that can do hard things. You can pull heavy things in your life and you can do it! Never give up! I love you guys.  Hope all is well! for everyone that have finals coming up.  I'm praying for you.
