6.8 Earthquake in Santiago

This week was crazy good!  We received the best reference of my life!  This boy is grinding reading the Book of Mormon everyday and he is bringing his girlfriend to church next week! We were teaching him on Thursday and then there was this 6.8 earthquake here in Santiago. It was crazy! I felt like Moses because I was teaching him and I promised him that if he read the Book of Mormon everyday he would feel the Spirit and know that the Book of Mormon is true. Then if he knows the Book of Mormon is true ...then he knows the church is true! So then I made a joke that the earthquake was the Holy Ghost telling him our message was true. hahaha  I love it! The mission still is the hardest thing i have done, but it's times like this when a person says he wants to bring his girlfriend to church and has a goal to go to the temple for all time and eternity that makes it worth it! 

It was my first week with my new comp from Argentina and he's cool.  He likes to work hard so that's good and he likes video games.  I don't really know anything about the video games so he makes fun of me for that, but it's good!  I have now been in this area 5 months.  I think I know just about every house and every person on the street.  I have almost touched every door, so hopefully I get changed soon.  If not, I will keep grinding here if the Lord needs me here.  I really like the members here and they all know me and look out for me just like brothers and sisters do!
My Spanish is getting better and I'm helping my comp with English. We speak English at night to help him and Spanish in the streets! 

We taught a guy from Haiti the other day in English and it was baller.  I really like teaching the people from Haiti because they are humble and willing to receive the message of the gospel.  We have been working with the young men here in our ward.  We have 3 young men who are ready to leave for their missions and it is cool to see how they work and want to share their testimonies. It was Fast Sunday the other day and it was cool to be able to share my testimony with everyone.  I went up with one of our recent converts and he is just so much happier with the gospel in his life.  He shared his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and how it has made him so much happier in the last 3 months.  It's crazy to think that we can help change people's life with some very simple beliefs of the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Attitude is everything!  Today was awesome! I played soccer and was able to see Elder Chase Ebeling!  So great!   This week was really good. It is frustrating you can't go knock on doors to talk to people and yelling through the gates gets old.  We kept at it all week and were able to talk to a man who was interested in reading the Book of Mormon and also talked to another man on the bus.   The man on the bus knew very little about missionaries other than we were nice to everyone. He wanted to read the Book of Mormon so we gave him one and referred him to missionaries in his area. We had a baptism on Saturday for this dope 13 year old boy who already knows so much about the church.  I confirmed him on Sunday in Sacrament Meeting in my broken Spanish.  He was so happy and understood what I said so it all worked out.   I kept thinking this week about the time that our family took food and supplies to the African refuge...

Hump Day and Liv's Birthday!

This last year has been crazy with some of the best moments of my life and some of the hardest / worst moments of my life!  Here's what I have learned this past year: God answers prayers! If we read, pray, listen to the holy ghost, and write down our feelings, God will answer our prayers! The gospel brings joy and happiness in our lives. The Book of Mormon is true and blesses our lives! I've read the Book of Mormon twice since I've been out here on my mission. It's so much more fun and easier to read than the New Testament and the Old Testament. The Book of Mormon keeps the doctrine so simple and makes it so everyone can understand it!  Joseph Smith was a true prophet! I have had the chance over the past year to teach a lot of Lesson 1 which is the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ! Loving it ...

My companion and I taught Priesthood this week.  We taught from the book Christ's Ideals for Living on the attributes of Christ.  That book is awesome.  We taught about 65 elders and it went well I think.  My companion was sick this past week and I was able to give him a blessing. He got feeling better the next day.  It was super dope. I love Alma 38.  If you get a chance go read it and replace the name son with your name.   It's the best. I am loving it here.  I love the Mexican people, the noises at night - haha - gun shots, fireworks and dogs barking all the time.  There is nothing better!  I only have about 3 weeks left here.  It is going fast.   Below is a picture of me with the head chef Estabon.  He is such a freaking bro!   #godsarmyletsgo Elder Seager
