A quitter never wins and a winner never quits
Sup guys,
I was thinking a lot this week about the joy we feel in the gospel of Jesus Christ and how much happier we are than people without it! It's crazy to think about and I love feeling the Holy Ghost. It gives me such a drive and desire every day to go hit the streets to help other people feel it. It's something different and something more powerful than most people have ever felt! I like to explain it like this to people, the Holy Ghost is the most powerful drug you can find here on earth! You won't find this feeling anywhere else than in the Gospel. It's crazy to think about!
I have done some crazy things in life and look forward to doing many more crazy things! When I think about the feeling of the adrenaline stoke out of my mind skiing on a powder day, or catching 30-inch fish with my best friends, or even cliff jumping, the adrenaline rush is still a super small feeling compared to the feeling in the gospel! It's hard to explain because it's different for every person! One thing for sure it that it is a still small voice and takes time and experiences to hear it and feel it! However, once you know the feeling of the Holy Ghost you will never want that feeling to leave! I'm not trying to be a Super Mormon or a Super Missionary, it just hurts me sometimes that I feel the Holy Ghost and feel so happy and see people struggling with problems that the Holy Ghost could help guide them!
For example, before the mission, I climbed Mt Superior in Little Cottonwood Canyon with my best friends and man that sucked a$$. I woke up at 2:30 am and started hiking to hit the top at sunrise and so I could go to work that morning at Alta. Luckily, I had my Red Bull to help me along the way, but man I am so grateful for this experience in my life. It taught me so many great lessons! Including:
- Just start and don't look back
- Keep going - You will have points in your life where your ski falls off and shoots down the trail and you have to go back to get it, but then you start hiking again or if you fall down, get back up
- Don't get scared - When I was on the knife ridge of Mount Superior I looked over and saw a 2,000 foot virtual drop on both sides, I sat down because I was scared, but luckily I had my buddy with me, just like the Holy Ghost telling me to keep going
- When you get to the top - take a breath - enjoy it - then rip the freak out of that line you have worked so hard for! You guys need to enjoy this life as we are here to have fun and to have experiences in life
- From the bottom of the mountain Look up at the line you just skied and say wow I did that! I can do hard things and now I will keep going, keep working hard and keep looking forward to the future!
Looking back I loved that experience, but when it was 3 AM and it was so cold I couldn't feel my hands, I wanted to quit. When I was out of shape on the ridge I wanted to quit, but I kept going. This is what I think Jesus Christ wants from us, to keep going in the hard times and to keep going and NEVER GIVE UP! It is the hard times in life that we learn the most and this is when our faith grows the most - when we either come closer to God or leave his presence. This is why we have challenges in life, to progress or regress in God's presence.
Love you guys,
Love you guys,
