Yew - Having a good time helping others come to Christ

This week was super cool boys! We have a girl that's going to be baptized this Saturday! Her progress toward baptism has been crazy.  She started off selling in the farria (or mini-market) every Sunday. It was super cool because she told us 3 weeks ago that she's going to stop selling in the farria so she could go to church and receive a blessing from God! So she quit her job on Sunday and started coming to church! She loved it! She's super nice and I kinda feel bad for her because she's had a hard life. She's worked super hard and her kids have stolen all her money and used it for drugs.  She is very scared of water but is stoked because she knows that baptism will help her receive the holy ghost and that the holy ghost will help her make better decisions in her life.   

I'm feeling super good out here and getting back into shape! I'm in a really poor area so it's kinda been a world shocker down here but I'm loving it! We are working really hard and I just got a new comp. lol It's kinda dope because his great-grandpa was an apostle and he knows more than a wizard of the gospel.----- So my comp has apostle blood in him!!!

Things that happened this week:
  1. got a new comp Elder Ashton 
  2. found and taught a really cute family from Columbia 
  3. found a family from Venezuela and gave them 4 Book of Mormons
  4. got food poisoning and did the good ole dub dragon all day

Attitude is everything!  Today was awesome! I played soccer and was able to see Elder Chase Ebeling!  So great!   This week was really good. It is frustrating you can't go knock on doors to talk to people and yelling through the gates gets old.  We kept at it all week and were able to talk to a man who was interested in reading the Book of Mormon and also talked to another man on the bus.   The man on the bus knew very little about missionaries other than we were nice to everyone. He wanted to read the Book of Mormon so we gave him one and referred him to missionaries in his area. We had a baptism on Saturday for this dope 13 year old boy who already knows so much about the church.  I confirmed him on Sunday in Sacrament Meeting in my broken Spanish.  He was so happy and understood what I said so it all worked out.   I kept thinking this week about the time that our family took food and supplies to the African refuge...

Hump Day and Liv's Birthday!

This last year has been crazy with some of the best moments of my life and some of the hardest / worst moments of my life!  Here's what I have learned this past year: God answers prayers! If we read, pray, listen to the holy ghost, and write down our feelings, God will answer our prayers! The gospel brings joy and happiness in our lives. The Book of Mormon is true and blesses our lives! I've read the Book of Mormon twice since I've been out here on my mission. It's so much more fun and easier to read than the New Testament and the Old Testament. The Book of Mormon keeps the doctrine so simple and makes it so everyone can understand it!  Joseph Smith was a true prophet! I have had the chance over the past year to teach a lot of Lesson 1 which is the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ! Loving it ...

My companion and I taught Priesthood this week.  We taught from the book Christ's Ideals for Living on the attributes of Christ.  That book is awesome.  We taught about 65 elders and it went well I think.  My companion was sick this past week and I was able to give him a blessing. He got feeling better the next day.  It was super dope. I love Alma 38.  If you get a chance go read it and replace the name son with your name.   It's the best. I am loving it here.  I love the Mexican people, the noises at night - haha - gun shots, fireworks and dogs barking all the time.  There is nothing better!  I only have about 3 weeks left here.  It is going fast.   Below is a picture of me with the head chef Estabon.  He is such a freaking bro!   #godsarmyletsgo Elder Seager
