Hump Day and Liv's Birthday!

This last year has been crazy with some of the best moments of my life and some of the hardest / worst moments of my life! 

Here's what I have learned this past year:
  1. God answers prayers! If we read, pray, listen to the holy ghost, and write down our feelings, God will answer our prayers!
  2. The gospel brings joy and happiness in our lives.
  3. The Book of Mormon is true and blesses our lives! I've read the Book of Mormon twice since I've been out here on my mission. It's so much more fun and easier to read than the New Testament and the Old Testament. The Book of Mormon keeps the doctrine so simple and makes it so everyone can understand it! 
  4. Joseph Smith was a true prophet! I have had the chance over the past year to teach a lot of Lesson 1 which is the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ! It's been crazy because there's one point in there that talks about how Joseph Smith saw Jesus Christ and God. Every time we share it, the Spirit fills the room so strong it's stupid!
  5. How to set and meet goals. This has been big-time for me. I'm so thankful for my mission and how it's helping me learn skills for after my mission! Every week I set goals, review them on Wednesday and refine them or make new/better goals to keep me progressing! I have learned so much from my leaders.  For example, a goal without a plan is just a dream! It is such a great feeling to accomplish your goals! 
This week, I asked God a question and it was super super cool!  I want to invite all of you to do the same. 
Is the Book of Mormon NOT True?  We always ask if it is true, but what if we change it up a little?  So I asked this question and the very second I asked it, I had this overwhelming feeling. It was like somewhere someone was saying are you dumb? You know this book is from God and there is no way a 14 year old kid could have written it! I had this overwhelming feeling of joy as my prayer was answered and I know that if the Book of Mormon is true then everything else in the church is true! I know the Book of Mormon is true!  I know that President Russell M. Nelson is a true prophet and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the power and authority to seal families for all eternity. 

This has been a super dope week and year!  Thanks for all your help this last year! it's been the hardest year of my life, but I'm just understanding what Davis Smith and Steve Hunt and all the old homies back home always told me. They said that the mission was the best thing a man could do and it makes you grind, set goals, come closer to God and refines you. It makes you humble yourself before God and pray more sincerely. The biggest thing the mission does is make you want to help other people and feel the same joy you feel every day. You have this fire inside you or light that others don't and there are 1000s of people searching for this light. We can be an example to them and show them the way back home to the chapel and to God's house after this life!

Attitude is everything!  Today was awesome! I played soccer and was able to see Elder Chase Ebeling!  So great!   This week was really good. It is frustrating you can't go knock on doors to talk to people and yelling through the gates gets old.  We kept at it all week and were able to talk to a man who was interested in reading the Book of Mormon and also talked to another man on the bus.   The man on the bus knew very little about missionaries other than we were nice to everyone. He wanted to read the Book of Mormon so we gave him one and referred him to missionaries in his area. We had a baptism on Saturday for this dope 13 year old boy who already knows so much about the church.  I confirmed him on Sunday in Sacrament Meeting in my broken Spanish.  He was so happy and understood what I said so it all worked out.   I kept thinking this week about the time that our family took food and supplies to the African refuge...

Loving it ...

My companion and I taught Priesthood this week.  We taught from the book Christ's Ideals for Living on the attributes of Christ.  That book is awesome.  We taught about 65 elders and it went well I think.  My companion was sick this past week and I was able to give him a blessing. He got feeling better the next day.  It was super dope. I love Alma 38.  If you get a chance go read it and replace the name son with your name.   It's the best. I am loving it here.  I love the Mexican people, the noises at night - haha - gun shots, fireworks and dogs barking all the time.  There is nothing better!  I only have about 3 weeks left here.  It is going fast.   Below is a picture of me with the head chef Estabon.  He is such a freaking bro!   #godsarmyletsgo Elder Seager
