The way she goes ---life has ups and downs
This week sucked and was really cool and frustrating,
First off my grandpa died. He was super cool guy and taught me some of the things I value most today. He taught me to: fly fish, that God lives, to be a good person, to not judge and to be honest. I was able to call him Wednesday and when I said I'll be rippin lips fishing with you in 80 years, he lifted up his hand and my mom started crying. He was super cute. That night I prayed with all my heart that my grandpa would just let go and stop fighting. At 7 am the next morning I got a call from my mission president that my grandpa had died. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't happy, but I know that he is happier now and in a better place probably helping people learn more about the gospel and chilling.
So that sucked, but we saw some fat miracles this week. For example, as you guys know they closed the church this last Friday and we couldn't hold any meetings. The problem was that we had planned a baptism and this girl was to get baptized on Saturday. When I heard the news that the church was closed, I was mad and sad as the coronavirus is not that bad down here. I prayed that night and asked that we could baptize her so that she could have the Holy Ghost this month. Within 2 hours we got a text from the Area President that said we could baptize her and confirm her a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the same day!!! She was pumped because she had been looking into the church for 5 years and had gotten married 9 months ago. So when I came to this area a few months ago there was a lot of pressure to help her get baptized. My comp and I really focused on helping her feel the Holy Ghost and the feelings of the gospel!. It was super cool because my comp from the MTC helped them get married and then I came in after him and helped her get baptized. We gave the sacrament the next day with her entire family. They loved it and said they felt the Spirit super strong and loved the new Come Follow Me program.
I had interchanges with the zone leaders and we got a text saying that we can't contact any more. That was frustrating because now we need to start looking for new people to teach and so I don't know what is going on.
I'm sure it is a little frustrated for the boys because Alta and Snowbird closed down early. Man this coronavirus sucks since it is even closing down the ski resorts.
Sunday was cool because one of my recent converts received the Melchizedek Priesthood. We had to run through a big protest to get to him and give him the priesthood with our bishopric. hahaha Crazy stuff going on down here in Chile. There's protests and cronavirus. The world is going to end! No!!!! Sunday was cool because we ate breakfast with one of my recent converts and then helped passed the sacrament to them and they really enjoyed it. I felt the Spirit so strong when I saw my recent convert blessing the sacrament! It was so cool to see people go from not knowing how to pray to blessing and passing the sacrament.
This past week was a crazy week filled with miracles and with some crappy days, but overall one of the best weeks of the mission!!!
YEW - love you guys
