Roof Work

Image
This week was dope!  We had so many good lessons and I was able to do some more service! I helped this guy build his roof on his house.  It was fun!  After we were done, he fed us and we talked about prophets and he loved it! We also had another great lesson with an investigator on how to feel the Spirit and how to know if it really is the Holy Ghost or something in your head. I pulled out my favorite scripture Alma 37 vs 6,7.  It is so good.  It says by small and simply things you will know the truth of all things! I have been thinking a lot lately on how to help other people.  It's crazy, but i haven't even stooped to think about my family or friends this week.  We have been so busy from building the roof to district exchanges and all other crazy things!  I had an exchange with my district leader on Thursday and it was cool.  He is from Guatemala and loves teaching.  We taught about the Plan of Happiness / Plan of Salvation. ...

Blind Man Crossing

I am now to the point with my Spanish that I can make jokes and understand about 60% of what people are saying.  It's so awesome!    We are teaching a guy in the area who has been smoking cigs his whole life.  We asked if he would try stopping a day at a time.  He hasn't smoked in five days and said he is feeling really good and a lot healthier.  Man this is so cool to see peoples lives change!  Also - funny story - There was this blind man trying to cross the street, but couldn't because he couldn't see and the cars weren't stopping.  I asked him if he wanted help and he said yes.  My zone leader was hesitant and told me to wait, but I just helped him cross the street.  After crossing back to my zone leader he was like you just left the mission!  So I guess the other side of the street was out of our mission and I am not to leave the mission.  Some times you have to do what is right and not follow the rules exactly!...

Take a Step Back

What's good boys?  This week was freaking the best week of the mission so far.  We are starting to find people to teach and the work is getting faster. The days are 300 times better when we have lessons and are not contacting all day. I taught a really dope lesson on the Plan of Salvation to this kid who's 13!!! We taught it all in English because the kid wants to learn more English.  We asked him where he learned English and you won't believe it. hahaah He said Fortnite!!!! So... video games are really good for you! hahahaha We were teaching him and he had so many good questions and was just killing it. At the end, he said that the gospel and going to church was making him happy and this was the happiest he had been in his whole life.  He also said he wants so serve a mission and help people in the States learn Spanish. When we were done, he said that he really could feel that we loved him and that the holy ghost was telling him that this was his time a...

I had a really good week and got pitted!  I was able to baptize one of the Sisters' converts this weekend! I was pumped because it was my first baptism.  I was also able to contact these two dope kids that love soccer and skate boarding.  I love the people here.  They are so nice and willing to give you everything.  I have been really loving the parables in the scriptures.  My favorite right now is the Good Shepherd and the sheep!  I love this so much.  We are all sheep of Jesus Christ and he will protect us.  There is a really good story about it in John Chapter 10!  We get changes this week and I'm pumped for that.  These past six weeks have just flown by and they have been so hard.  hahaahh I miss the boys right now.  I hope you guys are killing the game with jobs this summer or school!  Everyday we get to eat lunch with the members and thats fun to talk to them and get to know them better! They feed us well t...

The Little Train That Could

The Little Train That Could...I think of this story everyday and every night! This week was awesome! We had two exchanges, one with the Zone Leaders and the other with the District Leaders.  It was a great opportunity for me to speak more Spanish and learn form missionaries that have been in the field for a long time.and copy what they do!  The Zone Leader I exchanged with was Elder Martiz.  He is a super dope good guy from El Salvador and lived in Barcelona, Spain so we talked a lot about soccer.  The other District Leader is from Guatemala and is super dope as well.  He is a hard worker which I love.  He gave me some good tips for contacting! We had a baptism in our ward this week from the Sisters and the girl was freaking beast mode.  She has spine problems, can't swim and is scared of the water.  It took us like 20 tries to baptize her, but we finally did it.  She was so amazing!  Her back was hurting and she was scared of the water,...
